- Camden Yards
Oriole Park at Camden Yards is as iconic as ballparks get.
It ushered in a “retro” wave of Major League Baseball stadiums. Multipurpose, domed concrete monstrosities with plastic turf were as “out” as a slugger after three strikes!
Dan’s word art captures the fun and excitement of a picture-perfect Opening Day at Camden Yards.
Created to celebrate Oriole Park’s 25th anniversary, the original piece is handwritten with the name of every player from 1954, when the team moved to Baltimore, to their home field’s silver anniversary season.
Dan writes this all-time roster largely in the club’s orange and black to create an enthusiastic Opening Day crowd. He uses bright green for the park’s natural grass field, and plenty of blue for Baltimore’s skyline against a glorious, cloudless sky—perfect weather for playing ball!
- M&T Bank Stadium
Baltimore’s dozen-year NFL franchise drought ended in 1996 when the Baltimore Ravens kicked off their inaugural season.
Since then, M&T Bank Stadium has housed two Super Bowl-winning Ravens teams and such gridiron greats as Ray Lewis, Lamar Jackson, and Joe Flacco.
In this piece, Dan has “rebuilt” M&T Bank Stadium using the names of every player in Baltimore Ravens history through 2019.
A crowd streams through Gate A, many sporting their favorite players’ jerseys. The team’s signature shade of purple dominates, from fans’ shirts and hats to the stadium’s upper levels and the sky above.
It’s one of the most impressive Baltimore Ravens gifts you can give!
- 1983 Baltimore Orioles World Series
The Orioles fell one game shy of the playoffs in 1982. But in ‘83 they went all the way, winning the World Series against the Phillies four games to one.
In the decisive Game Five, a young Cal Ripken, Jr.—long before he became “Iron Man”—caught the final out and won the first of his two American League MVP titles.
To honor the world champion 1983 Orioles, Dan has handwritten the date, opponent, and score of the season’s games, arranging, shading, and coloring them to form a heroic portrait of Ripken at bat.
It’s the perfect present for the old school Orioles fan in your life who watched it all happen!
- Ray Lewis
It’s been 25 years since the Baltimore Ravens chose Ray Lewis as their second-ever NFL draft pick. Since both he and first pick Jonathan Ogden eventually became Hall of Famers, that ‘96 draft was momentous for the fledgling franchise.
Racking up more than 2,000 tackles in 17 seasons, Lewis was an absolute force of nature on the field. His hard-hitting, dominant style helped the team earn the “Baltimore Bullies” nickname it wears with pride.
Dan built up this portrait of Ray Lewis’ post-tackle scream in Ravens purple, black, and gold from the opponents and scores of every game in the 2012 season, including the Super Bowl XLVII victory. Text from Lewis’ energetic pre- and post-game speeches fills the background.

- Baltimore Skyline
This skyline view highlights Baltimore’s crown jewel, the Inner Harbor.
An active and important American seaport since the 17th century, the Inner Harbor has also been a bustling, beautiful center of commerce and culture since the 1970s.
The waterfront is home to Maryland’s World Trade Center, the National Aquarium, the American Visionary Art Museum, the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, and more. From rich American history to rich crab cakes, the Inner Harbor has something for everyone, resident or tourist. No wonder the Inner Harbor is one of the world’s top waterfront destinations.
Dan developed this lovely view of the Inner Harbor at sunrise by handwriting the names of its streets, neighborhoods, and major landmarks.
