Weekly Update - 1/4/2022
Sending out a huge THANK YOU to everyone who purchased Art of Words prints in 2021. Still working out the numbers, but it looks like we're pretty close to hitting our goal of raising $40,000 for ALS...progress is being made! Lou Gehrig's farewell speech is one of my most important pieces ever and I'm so proud that the Yankees featured it in the Yankees Magazine! Moving forward, we'll choose one charity each year and focus all of our efforts to make the biggest impact possible.
Next week I'll be announcing a new piece and new charity for 2022. Follow me at @realartofwords for more.
Now it's time for some New Year's resolutions...
1. Don't bother my wife with anything more serious than the weather before 9am. Nobody wants to hear, "Good morning hun, what if Santa brings in covid??? Did you check my car registration???" as soon as they get up. Totally understandable.
2. Take more advice from my pop pop Bill Cole, who just recently passed. He was the ultimate salesman and always encouraged me to succeed in my own business.
3. Be happier. If you told teenage me I'd be 41 and making art for a living with a wife and two kids, I'd take it in a heartbeat!
4. Use last year's holiday gifts a bit more. The Bowflex did NOT get a lot of love last year

Some of my favorite gifts this year...

- Shoutout to my wife for getting the best gift, family passes to both the Philadelphia Zoo and Elmwood Park Zoo. The zoo is one of my kids' favorite activities and we're lucky to have two great ones in the Philly area.

- A record player AND my parents record collection from the 70s & 80s. Here are my favorites in no particular order:
Carney - Leon Russell
Harvest - Neil Young
Idlewild South - Allman Brothers
Katy Lied - Steely Dan
Silk Degrees - Boz Scaggs
- First Round of BMW Championship Tickets

- Prints from S. Preston for the Kids (thank you as always!)
And finally, here's what you can expect from us in 2022!
Movies - The first movie piece is going to be Caddyshack, one of my favorites and one of the most quoted movies of all time.
New Charity - Next week, I'll be revealing the charity that artofwords.com will support in 2022.
New Cities - I want to bring word art to cities & teams that don't have any yet. As always, please send suggestions my way!
Old Cities - Additionally, I won't stop creating pieces for Chicago, Philly, New York and all of the other cities that already have word art.

Army/Navy - I've wanted to do this piece for some time and this year the time is right. The annual Army Navy game will take place in my hometown of Philadelphia and I plan on doing two separate pieces (one featuring Army and one featuring Navy), that will make one image when placed side by side.
Happy New Year to all and I hope you have a healthy and prosperous 2022!

First thank you Dan for the contribution you raised for ALS. As you know this is an organization close to the Casey family heart.
I love your resolutions, especially the one for Jess.
Looking forward to your 2022 creations. Happy New Year! Wishing you and your family all the best
LaSALLE University art please!!!!
I have messaged a couple times, but I am hoping you will do an Allen Fieldhouse art of words poster. My son is a senior at the University of Kansas, and I would love to gift him this poster at some time😊
Thank you,
Kelly Green
